As a student at the ENS de Lyon, you will have access to over 20 student associations and 40 clubs – which, depending on your wishes, will allow you to gain new interests, get involved in an association’s organization or simply spend quality time with other fellow students.

ASSET is the school's international students' club dedicated to easing you into your new life in Lyon in the best possible way. The club's activities include: an international dinner party, the "Tandem" language exchange program (practice your French around coffee), cultural outings, cooking classes, film projections…Save the date:
A welcome reception will be held on September 27, 12:20 pm at the Descartes Restaurant.
Later on, a party organized by the ASSET will be held at 9 pm, at the Salle Festive (Hall A of the Descartes student residence).Sporting events for the new academic year
Organized by the ASENSL (Association Sportive de l'ENS de Lyon) and with the student life office’s support, these sporting events are the opportunity to let off steam and make friends during outdoor sports week-ends. Do not miss the following dates:
- Sport Open Day: Thursday, September 6 from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm. You will discover the individual and team sports offered at the school.
- Water rafting and kayaking in the Gorges of Ardèche: from September 29-30, with differentiate fees.
- Group sports week-end: from October 13-14, with differentiate fees. A variety of sports is included: football, handball, rugby, ultimate…

The Université de Lyon, the Métropole de Lyon, CROUS, the Préfecture du Rhône, the Région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, ONLYLYON, Campus France and around thirty other partners work together throughout the year to welcome and support international students during their university career.
In September and October, the Students Welcome Desk provides all the services and information you need for a successful start to the academic year. For two months at the Université de Lyon, you can find out information and complete the procedures relating to the renewal of your residence permit, the validation of your long-stay visa, accommodation, work, transport in the Metropolis of Lyon, health and access to healthcare services, culture and tourist information, etc.
Throughout the academic year, the Students Welcome Desk also organizes relaxed, subject-specific Meet & Greet events, during the day or after work, so you can meet and talk with people involved in student life and integrate well into life in the city.
